I only found four new books this month I plan to read. Do any of you have others to suggest?
- by Catherine Mulvany
- Paperback released November 25
- Publisher–Pocket Star
- Romantic Suspense with a paranormal twist
- “Nevada White is on the run from a strange psychic gift that enables her to see evil…from two deadly predators who are tracking her every move…and from a past she can’t recall.”
- I’ve read several of Catherine Mulvany’s books and enjoyed them.
Persistence of Memory
- By Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

- Hardcover released Dec 9
- Publisher–Delacorte Books for Young Readers
- Young Adult Fantasy
- “Sixteen-year-old Erin Misrahe just wants to be like everyone else in her new school. But Erin has more to worry about than passing AP Chemistry or making friends. In times of stress, she has always been overcome by her alter ego, Shevaun, whose violent behavior wreaks havoc on those around her.”
- Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first book (In the Forests of the Night) when she was 13. I enjoyed that book and several others she has written.
- By Sheri Cobb South
- John Pickett series, book 2
- Hardcover released Dec 10
- Publisher–Five Star
- Historical Mystery
- From Publisher’s Weekly–”…recently widowed Lady Julia Fieldhurst decides to leave London and spend the summer in Yorkshire, …largely to avoid gossip surrounding her husband’s murder. Alas, tragedy strikes shortly after Julia arrives at Hollingshead Place….Julia writes to Bow Street runner John Pickett in London for help in investigating what may be a crime.”
- I haven’t read any of Sheri Cobb South’s books, but this sounds good and I’m going to find the first book (In Milady’s Chamber) in this series.
- By Jayne Ann Krentz
- The Arcane Society, Book 5
- Hardcover released Dec 30
- Publisher–Putnam
- Paranormal Romance
- From Publisher’s Weekly–”A heroine who can see dark energy flashes in a villain’s aura and a hero who can squelch villainous thoughts before they’re put into action go to paradise to find a murderer, but find love, sex and a nest of drug-enhanced evildoers instead in Krentz’s latest Arcane Society novel.”
- Jayne Ann Krentz is one of my favorite authors and I’m enjoying her Arcane Society series.

keep an eye out for Mercedes Lackey’s new works. she’s been slowly adding installations to the “Tale of Five Hundred Kingdoms” series. her books are always vivid and amazing. i am so sad she dropped the “Heralds of Valdemar” series.
I haven’t read anything by Mercedes Lackey in years. I’ll have to look for some of her new books. Thanks, Josianne.
Hello,
I found your blog while searching for books by Catherine Mulvany and have a unique question for you. I have written a few novels and published one that appeal to the same audience (romantic suspense with elements of the paranormal). Before I invest in a web site, self-publishing costs, etc. I am doing a little “market analysis.” Would you be interested in reviewing my work and possibly linking to my web site?
Thank you for your time and consideration of this request.
Melinda Simon
Melinda,
I haven’t reviewed books for authors and am not sure I want to. I have trouble finishing a book if I’m not interested in it and if I received books from authors I would feel obligated to finish the book and write a review. I have so many books I want to read–I won’t have enough years to read them all! Also I actually read very little romantic suspense or paranormal so I’m not a good candidate to read your book.
Good luck with your book and your writing.
Hi Jan,
Thanks for getting back with me. I appreciate it and certainly understand the constraints of time and genre interest. Reading is a wonderful passtime and to make it an obligation would take the fun out of it. Happy reading!
