I read books by 30 new (or new-to-me) authors last year. My favorite authors were:
- Joanna Bourne–The Spymaster’s Lady (historical romance)
- Eva Ibbotson–A Countess Below Stairs (young adult historical romance)
- Ann Aguirre–Grimspace (science fiction)
- Elizabeth Vaughan–Warprize (science fiction)
- Donna Jo Napoli–Hush (young adult historical fiction)
- Colleen Gleason–The Rest Falls Away (paranormal)
- Julia Spencer-Fleming–In the Bleak Midwinter–the first in the series (mystery)
- Gillian Summers–The Tree Shepherd’s Daughter (young adult fantasy)
- Elizabeth Grayson–Moon in the Water (historical romance)
I read more new authors last year than I have in the past. I credit this to my blog and reading other blogs. I searched out new books and new authors this year and read both more 2008 books and more new authors–many of which I heard about from other blogs. Thanks to all you bloggers. It was great to find new authors. What makes you try a new author?
